The process of obtaining a HRci phr certification is easy. There are only a few things you need to take into consideration before you get started. You will need to find a course of study that is accredited by the ILDN (International Graduate School Examination Program). In order to do this, you will need to contact the National Vocational School or Vocational Schools Association and request an examination. Once you pass this exam you will be mailed your results, which should be in English.
The ILDN is one of the more difficult certifications to obtain and many people have had to take it multiple times before obtaining their degree. It is basically a six-month course. This will take about two years to complete. In order to get the credits you will need to start applying as early as possible. You can either apply online at the admissions office or through the internet.
Most HRci the schools accept credits earned at the associate degree level or the bachelor’s degree level. However, there are a few schools that will accept credits from the master’s level as well. At any one of these levels you can become a Registered Health Information Administrator, thus becoming qualified to work in this capacity. You may also enroll in a program to obtain your bachelor’s degree in this field and then take the credits for it.
There are a few ways in which you can obtain credits for this degree. First you can take courses online, but these are going to be at a somewhat higher standard than what would be offered at the associate degree level. Second you can choose to take an actual class at a nearby campus, however, these typically are going to be more expensive than taking an online course and are generally not offered in every classroom.
Once you have your degree, you can find a job in this field, usually by attending a training program. You should be sure to do your research carefully before enrolling in one of these programs. Not all training programs are created equal and not all employers will take you on at this level. In fact some won’t even accept an applicant who hasn’t yet received a degree. Some employers will only take those with a bachelor’s degree or perhaps a master’s degree. So, when you are interviewing always make sure you ask about the particular program in which you’re considering attending.
Even though you can get these credits through an employer, it’s important that you pursue them on your own. If you are looking to advance in your career there are other options. One is to take classes at a career college. These are not the same thing as the vocational schools that are also commonly known. Career colleges focus on a particular field and offer classes specifically geared toward that field.
The other option is to continue your education through a university. An example of this is an MBA or a Master of Business Administration. While an MBA is not the same as HRci, both are very highly sought after degrees. Many employers consider these positions to be very high priority and will give preference to applicants with a graduate degree in one of these fields. These programs will usually take two or three years to complete depending on how far you want to go in your career.
